Securities Lawsuit Filing Follows Generic Drug Price Fixing Allegations

Mike Papantonio and Trial Magazine Executive Editor Farron Cousins take a look at an anti-trust lawsuit against the companies involved in an investigation into collusion and price fixing in a scheme that involves more than 300 different prescription drugs. Then, a discussion with Attorney Steve Babin on a lawsuit being brought by federal workers who are being forced to work without pay during the government shutdown. Plus a discussion with Legal Journalist Mollye Barrows on the scathing resignation letter from an NBC commentator who claimed that he couldn’t take the network’s constant pro-war propaganda anymore.

Hi Mike and Farron. I think the "sandbox" analogy was about demand in the market. If someone grabs a big pile of sand the others don't have as much to play in. It certainly is anti-competitive, but it could be argued that it is also anti-monopolistic. Prepare for an argument like that. (It is monopolistic because they all act as a single entity.)

How can it be that a fed worker with 20 years can't bank enough for 3 months rent and food? I did it on far less money. Crickets fiddle while ants work.

Also how about some sympathy for the permanently lost workers and their homes and families and lives? These guys just wait it out and get their lives back!!!!

This answered a few questions being forced to work without pay seems unconstitutional to me – I thought slavery was illegal? A lawsuit will not feed kids & pay rent!

A retired friend here in Ireland can buy a 60 gram tube of "Enstilar" foam treatment for psoriasis and only pay a nominal $5 per prescription. Without a health insurance plan, he’d have to pay a pharmacist €70 ($80 approx) per unit. In the U.S. this very same item costs anywhere from $800-$1000. Wakey wakey America, you’re being pharma-phucked🤪

In 2015, a union health plan in Pennsylvania filed a complaint about the spike in the cost of some generic prescription drugs. For example, the wholesale price of 100 mg. doxycycline hyclate antibiotic pills went up from $20 for a bottle of 500 pills to $1860 per 500 pill bottle over a 9 month period ending August 2014. Not a word from anyone in the government or in the paid off corrupt media on these overcharges. Even today, the retail price for doxycycline hyclate is about a dollar a pill. And this RT report is worthless. The dimwit guy interviewed only talks about money laundering, not the paid off government regulators who protected the drug companies ripping off consumers. I got overcharged as a result of tis conspiracy when I filled a prescription for doxycycline two years ago, paying about $30 for 20 pills.

The lawsuit, originally filed in December 2016 by 20 state AGs, stems from a two-year investigation conducted by Connecticut AG George Jepsen's (D) office. The original lawsuit accused six drugmakers of conspiring to fix prices for the antibiotic doxycycline hyclate and the diabetes treatment glyburide.
