Stephen A.: Leave Jameis Winston on bench if ‘FitzMagic’ continues | First Take | ESPN

Stephen A. Smith, Max Kellerman and Ryan Clark agree that the Buccaneers should stick with Ryan Fitzpatrick until he starts to lose games, but Max thinks Tampa Bay should move on from Jameis Winston if he isn’t a long-term answer at quarterback.

Please! I hope Ryan wears the gold again if they win against the Steelers. I'm not even a Tampa Bay Bucs fan.

Do you think that Jaimass Winsnone should be the face of your Tampa Bay Buccaneers? A person who has now been accused twice of sexual assault? What are we telling women when we ponder whether or not to keep him? It says Tampa Bay doesn't give a damn about women. That's what it says.

No lie. He did alright in texas. Our offensive line had been terrible for years. A qb can only do so much with so much time. Notice the championship caliber teams protect their qb

It’s all about the O-line. Any QB can play back there with the weapons down field. Give JW a chance. Amen S.A.

These are the same idiots that once Jameis was traded and went on to win two or three super bowls with another team would be criticizing Tampa for trading him , and people we always know how the story goes in Tampa. The Buccaneers would be stupid to trade or waive Jameis because right now who would we go out and find who is a better option for the future? Jameis needs to be given one more chance to right the ship and if he fails its time to make a move. Its almost like the media wants Tampa to trade another gifted QB away so we can continue to lose and be the laughing stock of the NFL and they can put up Steve Youngs name and Trent Dilfers name and Doug Williams and say people the Buccaneers dont know how to develop quarterbacks. Well not this damn time folks!!

the bucs oline was terrible last year. they brought in a center and moved Marpet back to guard. They are way better protecting to qb this year!

    Don't fix what's not broken!!!!
I'm not saying Ryan is great but right now he's winning keep going and roll with it until it don't work!

People are overreacting. Fitz is just a capable backup QB. That's a fact. The past 2 games just showed what a reasonably capable nfl qb is supposed to do with all these weapons. Take notes, bucs coaches and management.

I'm a DIEHARD BUCS FAN and I totally agree with Max 110%. J. Winston is NOT the answer. Winston is overrated in my book. Mike Evans and Desean Jackson we're miserable playing wideout before Fitzpatrick came on to the scene. I've never seen Evans and Jackson so happy since they've both been in Tampa. If Fitzpatrick keeps winning J. Winston needs to stay on the bench for the remainder of the season. Fitzpatrick is not the best quarterback and that's a Gavin. But you can't go on his past with his past teams. He's never had the offence Tampa does

Fitz can't get it done in crunch time. He always crumbles…eventually.

  40. Han Solo

    October 12, 2018 at 3:07 am

It's not that Fitzpatrick is great. Winston is just not that good. Winston is not that accurate and he holds on to the ball way too long. He had a chance to show that he could handle all the weapons we have last year. He still kept eyeing Evans every play! When Evans wasn't available it was the end of the world for him. Bucs should keep riding fitz until he gets hurt or has a 3 game losing streak. I don't care if he's 24, good leader and players like him but if he's not consistent on the field, fck him.
