Media bs. Every one of you knows Mack was let go because the Davis's don't have 80 million on hand to pay his guaranteed money. Gruden's done an incredible job of taking the heat for them. Raiders will start getting better in Vegas where hopefully for them they can generate more revenue. Also Darnold didn't win that job. McGown stepped aside and said he didn't want too start. McGown would have beat him out. You guys literally make stuff up on the spot.

Stephen the Browns lost their perennial all pro left tackle, Joe Thomas to retirement. The bottom line is their offensive line is offensive and the tight end drops easy catches. Will that change? . If Oakland loses too many games their 2019 picks might set them up for a quick rebound. The fans on both sides are looking at the level of coaches so let the comparisons begin

Expect a lot of interceptions from peyton manning too. Any realist, knows that it takes at least a year to adjust to the NFL. No qb has ever been a stud as a rookie. Look at every big name out there today. All of them needed a couple years before they dominated.. be it bench or starting.
Darnold is fine. Feck the media.

Sam not a bust but he overrated to me Baker & Josh Allen will be the best qb this year. Rosen making his first start this week & Lamar haven’t played yet so we’ll see what happen

Baker came in and put up 21 pts, down 14 against the #4 overall Jets defense. Stephen A is once again a moron.

You make the argument that the Jets franchise historically is worst the Browns. Other than Joe Namath's guarantee, what have they done? The Browns have 8 NFL championships pre-merger/Super Bowl era, in an arguably stronger league. Those still count for something, like Green Bay's 8, Chicago's 8, Philadelphia's 3, N.Y. Giants' 4, etc. prior. Both franchises need these QB's to pan out, though.

Stephen A needs to watch teams if he's gonna talk about them. The Raiders haven't looked half bad. The players have choked away two games they had in their hands. Not Gruden. If the Raiders had made one or two game clinching plays they were put in position to make by Gruden and his staff, the Raiders would be 2-1.even without Mack. Point is, it's not an easy out for Mayfield. If he wins, great for him and he really would be a star in Cleveland. If he doesn't, it's not even close to being the end of the world. I know that they want to act like the Raiders have looked terrible and are taking advantage of that horrible 0-3 record to act as if they've looked like a future 3-13 team out there that's getting blown out. It sells. Being real about it doesn't sell. Mayfield is fine and right now isn't under any pressure. Just go out there, play, and get better.

baker is under a lot of pressure. it's one thing to win with the other team having no previous tape of you and not expecting you to play at all, it's another thing when a nfl defense had a whole week to prepare for you

  22. Lincoln Adams

    October 12, 2018 at 3:10 pm

Wrong, Steven. The pressure is not Baker after that win. We fans have seen some of the worst QB play possible over the last twenty years— which kinda makes us experts on bad QB play and/or one week wonders.

Baker showed he has well above average QB instincts and knowledge. Now, will he make rookie mistakes? Yes. Will he have a dog day afternoon or two this year? Yes. But the pressure is squarely on Hue Jackson and Todd Haley to do right by Baker in the eyes of the fans.

Bad play-calling, and bone-headed clock management from the coaching staff will doom the Browns before Mayfield will. Mayfield has a pass for a while. It is a bit ironic that Mayfield looked the same against the Jets as he did the Buckeyes, and Darnold looked the same against the Browns as he did the Buckeyes. Which is to say, one has laser-like precision and arm strength who is unflappable and the other has good tools, but can get overwhelmed when it counts.

Too early to tell. Darnold can only throw on the run. He has to be comfortable in the pocket more. Baker is legit. Rosen looks ok. But Allen no one knows how to defend him just yet. Once they get more film, he will have to learn how to sit in the pocket. Good class. All need time. Baker is legit ready though.

4:36 Ryan Clark is wrong. This is what happens when people just read the stat line and talk about a game they didn't watch. The 2 int and "giving up two possessions" isn't why the Jets lost. The int were late in the game desperation drives where the browns were already ahead. The ints didn't even lead to points, it just sealed the fate of the game. The reason they lost was because they failed to adjust the game plan once Baker came in and the Browns O-line stepped it up a notch in protection. More importantly, Baker was getting rid of the ball more quickly before the pass rush can get to him. Combine that with the crazy amount of blitzing and the Jets having their 3rd game in 11 days, you have a tired defense that couldn't get to him and had breakdowns in coverage. On the offense, you had lack of creativity as they kept doing one of two things: HB toss to the left, Quick screen to the right to Enunwa. Stagnant gameplanning and shotty O-line protection is what cost the Jets the game. As for Darnold, as long as he shows progress and not regression, he'll be okay in ny. Baker did earn equity in Cle but overall I think both Qb's are expected to win some games this year. Next year is when the pressure is dialed up because then they'll have almost a full season under their belt, good/great defense, and hopefully better offensive weapons. Look forward to these guys going head to head in the future cause this conversation will always come up.

Once again, Stephen A has an issue with Mayfield. Sorry Stephen A. Baker wont stink up anything because our team is much better than the others. Baker doesnt know what pressure is. Youre wrong again. We will beat Oakland handily.

Jets need to get Bell and run more. They have decent wideouts but they need to use Powell and Crowell a lot better than they have been. The play calling is never there for them. They’re rebuilding and trading up for bell and solidify their run game and their passing backfield. You do that with good play calling you can pick your opponents apart.
